Poetic sound composition about metamorphoses of reality

Autofictional texts form the foundation of this audio piece. Ira Hadžić understands them as sound material, arranges them like individual instruments. Together with musician Hilary Jeffery, she explores how word and music  "connect, how they eavesdrop on each other, react to each other, while constantly changing their form and creating new meaning, creating resonances, even though they remain the same in the essence of their nature."

ANAMESA - a composition in seventy-seven acts

Libretto in German and English
First limited edition

"This libretto is a work in progress and therefore a work of poetry. Something is printed in it, something is left out. The contents do not follow a plot. They come from different, more or less distant periods of time and have as their subject observations, reflections, meditations, new experiences of reality, dreams, metamorphoses of memories and perspectives that blend, overlap, connect.

'Anamesa' is part of my cross-genre, interdisciplinary language compositions. The content opens up from three perspectives: The prologue and epilogue, the beginning, and the end, all of which can be traced back to the radio play 'Heimatgefühle' (Deutschlandfunk Kultur, 2021). The main part, 'Anamesa' (from the Greek: 'in between'), is composed of seventy- seven acts. The acts can be combined as modules in any order and serve as a template for the radio piece of the same name (Deutschlandfunk Kultur, 2023). Above all, however, the content is revealed through exchange, through the relationship between the work and the reader. Only the reader completes the work. Finally, then, it is about you."
